Renewal SA Housing Projects Target Community Needs Across Adelaide

Renewal SA is driving six major neighborhood developments in Adelaide, planning over 24,000 new homes across metropolitan and regional areas. These projects focus on delivering housing that includes affordable components and new community facilities.

Southwark Grounds redevelopment

The Southwark Grounds project at the former West End Brewery site will deliver up to 1,300 homes on 8.4 hectares. At least 20% of the housing will be affordable, with first residents expected by late 2026. This site conversion provides a direct supply of homes in an established inner area.

Forestville and Port Stanvac sites

The Forestville development in the Inner South is under construction with 71 terrace homes, of which 95% are sold, and new apartment sales are launching. The full project is scheduled to wrap up by 2028. Port Stanvac, a 230-hectare coastal redevelopment south of the CBD, will create 3,600 energy-efficient homes along with a new town centre, targeting first residents in 2028.

Playford Alive East in Munno Para

Playford Alive East in Munno Para, 30km north of the CBD, will add 1,300 homes with 30% affordable housing. The project includes new schools and parks, and civil works are scheduled to begin in 2026. These additions create local access to education and open space for future residents.

The scale of the developments supplies both market and affordable homes while incorporating energy efficiency measures and public amenities.
