The South Australian government is advancing a series of major housing developments through the Housing Roadmap, with construction readiness targeted across several locations from early 2026 onward.
The department published the details on July 18, 2026, listing specific sites and home counts that remain subject to master planning in each case.
Projects Ready in 2026
February 2026 marks the first listed date, when the Noarlunga site is scheduled to reach housing construction ready status for 626 homes. Thebarton, the former West End Brewery site, follows in early 2026 with plans for 1,000 homes. Playford Alive eastern balance site is listed for March 2026 and 1,480 homes.
Greater Seaton Urban Renewal is set for July 2026 and 1,452 homes. Smithfield stage one and Elizabeth South on John Rice Avenue both target November 2026, with more than 1,500 homes and 300 homes respectively. Tapangka on Franklin Street is listed for December 2026 and 329 homes, with staged construction extending to 2030 that will include residential units alongside commercial, retail and hotel elements.
Projects Ready from 2027 Onward
The Magill UniSA site carries a 2027 readiness date, with the number of allotments still to be settled through master planning and talks with Campbelltown City Council. Onkaparinga Heights, formerly known as Hackham, is scheduled for September 2027 and 2,000 homes.
Concordia is listed for December 2029 and 10,000 homes. Sellicks Beach reaches readiness in 2029 for 1,700 homes. The department notes that a full interactive view of land supply and development activity across Greater Adelaide is available through PlanSA's Land Supply Dashboard.
