Gouger Street in the Adelaide CBD has been the city's most concentrated dining strip for decades, offering a density of cuisines that is unusual for a city of Adelaide's size. Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Malaysian, Greek and modern Australian restaurants sit side by side across a few hundred metres, with the Central Market at one end anchoring the precinct. Most restaurants are open for dinner seven nights, and many offer lunch service. The strip is busiest on Friday and Saturday evenings, so booking ahead for popular spots is advisable.
