Best Asian Restaurants in Adelaide: Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and More

Adelaide has one of Australia's strongest Asian dining scenes relative to its size, shaped by a large Chinese-Australian community with deep historical roots, significant Vietnamese immigration and a growing Japanese dining culture. Chinatown on Gouger Street in the CBD is the traditional hub, with yum cha restaurants, Hong Kong-style BBQ shops, and bubble tea cafes operating in a condensed precinct. The Gouger Street and Moonta Street area around Chinatown has the highest concentration of Chinese dining options. Vietnamese restaurants are spread across the inner southern suburbs, with Hindmarsh, Mile End and Clarence Park having well-regarded pho and banh mi establishments. Hutt Street in the inner east has Japanese options. Rundle Street's food strip has pan-Asian options alongside European dining. Korean BBQ has grown as a category in the CBD area. Several suburbs including Norwood and Burnside have Asian dining catering to the eastern suburbs. The Central Market Chinatown precinct on Saturday afternoons is a food experience in itself.
